Privacy Policy

Intercession (“the App”) is a Catholic Rosary and community prayer-intentions app published by Rorschach Interactive LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
You can use core parts of the App, praying the Rosary and browsing prayer intentions, anonymously, without creating an account or providing any personal information. Some features, such as posting your own prayer intention, require you to create an account.
1. Information we collect
a. Account information
If you choose to create an account (to post an intention), we collect, through Google Firebase Authentication:
- Your email address (if you sign up with email, or via Google Sign-In).
- A display name. Only your first name is ever shown publicly, and you may choose to appear as “Anonymous” instead.
If you never create an account, you are signed in anonymously with a random identifier and we do not collect your email or name.
b. Content you submit
- Prayer intentions you post: the category, the text of your request, and whether you chose to display your first name or “Anonymous.”
- Prayer activity. For example, when you pray for an intention, which increments a public prayer count. We do not publicly reveal who prayed for a given intention.
c. Device and notification data
- A push notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can notify you, for example when someone prays for your intention. You can disable notifications in your device settings.
- Standard technical and diagnostic data collected by Firebase (such as app version and general device type) to operate and stabilize the service.
- Usage analytics. In the mobile app, we use Firebase Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how features are used so we can improve the app (for example, which screens are visited). On this website, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first and does not use cookies or collect personal information; it only measures aggregate page visits.
d. Support purchases
Intercession is free. You may optionally make a one-time in-app purchase to help cover the cost of running the service. These purchases are processed by Google Play Billing (and, on iPhone, by Apple’s App Store). We never receive or store your payment card details. We do receive a record of the purchase (the product purchased, an order identifier, and the time) so we can understand how many people support the App. Support is entirely optional and does not unlock any feature.
2. How we use your information
- To operate the prayer-intentions board and the Rosary experience.
- To screen submitted intentions for safety before they are posted (see Section 3).
- To send you notifications you have opted into (such as when someone prays for your intention).
- To understand, in aggregate, how the App is used and supported so we can maintain and improve it.
- To protect the community: to detect abuse, enforce our rules, and respond to reports.
3. Content moderation and third-party processing
To keep the prayer board safe, the text of each intention you submit is sent to the OpenAI Moderation API (operated by OpenAI) before it is posted, to check for harmful or crisis-related content. This text is transmitted to OpenAI solely for that automated safety check. We do not send OpenAI your name, email, or account identifiers with this text. Some intentions may also be reviewed by a member of our team before being posted.
4. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the App:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. You can:
- Delete an individual intention you posted at any time from within the App.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below. We will delete your account, your submitted content, and associated personal data, except where we are required to retain certain records (such as transaction records) by law.
6. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures provided by Google Firebase to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. You may also disable notifications and stop providing personal information at any time by using the App anonymously or uninstalling it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated within the App where appropriate.
